We only use your details to answer your offcut request. We don't sell them, share them for marketing, or use tracking cookies.

Who we are

Second Cut Stone is run by Granite Systems Ltd, Unit 6 Randolph Court, Randolph Industrial Estate, Kirkcaldy, Fife KY1 2YY. Granite Systems Ltd is the data controller for the details you give us on this website.

What we collect

When you send a request for an offcut, we keep:

• your name, email address and phone number (if you give it);
• the offcut you chose, the shape and size of the piece, the edges, and the price shown;
• anything you write in the message box.

Using the price calculator or browsing stock doesn't collect anything about you. Nothing is sent until you press Send request.

Why we use it

To check the stone, confirm your quote, arrange cutting and collection, and contact you about that order. The legal basis is that you've asked us to take steps towards a contract with you. We won't add you to a mailing list.

Who handles it for us

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They process data only on our instructions:

• Supabase stores the stock list and your request (our database).
• Resend sends us an email when a new request arrives, containing the details you entered.
• GitHub Pages hosts the website and, like any web host, briefly logs visitors' IP addresses for security.
• Google Fonts and jsDelivr serve the fonts and some page code, so they see your IP address when the page loads.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep requests for 12 months so we can deal with follow-up questions, then delete them. If you go ahead and buy, we keep the order details for as long as the law requires for our business records (usually 6 years).

Cookies and storage

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The staff login page stores a sign-in token in the browser, and that's only used by our staff.

"View in your room"

The augmented reality preview runs entirely on your phone. Camera images aren't sent to us or anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your details, to correct them, or to delete them, and you can object to how we use them. Email or phone us using the details above. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
